Polycarbonate sheet, commonly referred to as PC sheet, is an engineering plastic that is popular for the fact of transparency, outstanding optical clarity, half the weight of glass and virtually unbreakable. Polycarbonate sheets meet the most demanding applications of machinery guards, automotive, safety and construction industry.
Thick polycarbonate is ideal for polycarbonate fabrication and machining
Excelite Engineering-grade polycarbonate sheet offers exceptional impact strength, dimensional stability, low moisture absorption, high heat deflection, and electrical insulating properties. It can be cut into bespoke shapes and sizes, and is ideal for Polycarbonate machining complex components, polycarbonate fabrications, and heavy-duty applications due to its greater thicknesses, and wide working temperature range.
Unlike standard polycarbonate, which is typically used for guards and screens, engineering grade polycarbonate is not optically clear.

The polycarbonate sheets are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Sheets are protected with wrapping or other cushioning materials to minimise any damage during transit.
General questions of polycarbonate sheeting
Polycarbonate sheeting is extremely strong and nearly unbreakable, making it suitable for applications like police shields, awnings, sunroom roofing, and greenhouses. These panels are resistant to various weather conditions and maintain their appearance for many years.
Polycarbonate sheets can be easily cut using a circular saw or a jigsaw. Circular saws are best for cutting larger lengths, while jigsaws require careful handling to ensure proper cuts.
Please be aware that a suitable blade is required for cutting. We recommend using a 60 teeth fine blade for optimal results.
Yes, polycarbonate roofing can yellow over time due to exposure to UV light, environmental factors, and aging. UV radiation from sunlight is a common cause of yellowing in polycarbonate Roofing. To minimise yellowing, All Excelite polycarbonate products with UV-resistant coatings or to apply UV protectants.
Polycarbonate sheets require minimal maintenance. Gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft cloth is typically sufficient. Avoid abrasive cleaners, brushes, or pressure washing, as these may damage the UV-resistant coating or scratch the sheets
Selecting the right pergola roofing involves considering factors such as your budget, preferred design, frame style, and color preferences. It's crucial to engage in discussions with a pergola roofing supplier before initiating the construction of your frame.
Polycarbonate Roofing
Although polycarbonate sheets are tough and durable, they should not be walked on. They can withstand many impacts, but might dent or scratch under the weight of a person. Additionally, their surfaces are slippery because it's smooth, posing a risk of slipping and injury.
Polycarbonate Corrugated sheet and twin wall polycarbonate sheets are typically the least expensive varieties. Despite the lower price, these sheets can endure Australia's harsh weather conditions, but selecting the wrong type may lead to more expenses in the long term.
Pergolas & Greenhouses
Excelite's popular glass-look polycarbonate flat roofing is an excellent choice for a pergola roof. It is easy to install, low-maintenance, and watertight, making it a great alternative to glass.
A pergola enclosure with a glass-like appearance, use a 4-6mm thick solid polycarbonate sheet. Alternatively, use twin-wall polycarbonate panels for a more affordable, yet less transparent option.
Twin wall polycarbonate is ideal for greenhouse construction due to its insulating properties and minimal framing requirements. Excelite Corrugated and embossed polycarbonate sheets are another excellent flexible option for greenhouse materials, especially for curved roofing or tunnel greenhouses.
